Population Road Safety Survey

Transport Accident Commission (TAC)

Wallis on behalf of the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) invites you to take part in a survey of Victorian road users. This important survey helps the TAC understand the experience and attitudes of all Victorians who share our roads, and assists with planning how best to improve road safety for everyone.

Who is eligible?

All people who have been invited are eligible for the survey, whether they are drivers, motorcyclists, cyclists or pedestrians.

How was I selected?

Victorians who hold, or have held, a licence or learners’ permit or registered vehicle are randomly selected from the VicRoads Registration and Licencing database to take part.

Is the survey confidential?

The survey is entirely confidential. Although the selection uses the VicRoads database, you personally identifiable details are only used to contact you, they are removed from the answers you give – even if you agree to take part in further research or enter the prize draw.

About the VicRoads Registration and Licencing Database

The TAC has access to the VicRoads database of all registered and licenced drivers and riders for the purposes of improving road safety in Victoria. The VicRoads privacy policy can be viewed on their website by opening the ‘Protecting your privacy brochure’ at the bottom of this <https://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/website-terms/privacy> web page.

When is the survey being conducted?

Depending on what wave of the fieldwork you've been invited to, the survey usually remains open for 2-weeks.

How long will the survey take?

10 minutes

How do I take part?

This survey is online only. Please click the link in the email or SMS sent to you.

Who can I contact if I have any questions?

If you have any questions or would like more information about the survey, call Wallis on 1800WALLIS or email tacpartnerships@wallis.social quoting your ID number and project number 5043.

What is the prize?

One prize of $1,000 will be randomly drawn from those who complete the survey and opt to enter the prize draw each wave. The prize will be a $1,000 eGiftCard, although we are happy to EFT the prize money to the winner if that is a preferred option.

The winners will be notified firstly by telephone (if we have your number), and subsequently in writing. The prizes will be drawn on the date noted within the Terms & Conditions (people are invited at different times, which affects which prize draw you will be entered into, you can contact us if you would like to confirm the draw date).

Please see prize draw terms and conditions here.
