CLOSED: Australian Digital Youth Index

Telstra Foundation

Wallis is conducting research on behalf of the Telstra Foundation among youth aged between 8 and 25, to understand what they do online.

The Telstra Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Telstra.  Its purpose is to support 1 million children and young people to feel more included, empowered, and connected by 2030.

The research will survey youth to understand their online access, what they use the internet for, their digital skills, how safe they feel online, and how this relates to their general wellbeing. Due to the range of ages covered, we are taking different approaches for different age groups. People aged over 18 will be surveyed directly. Youth aged between 14 and 17 will be surveyed directly, after being invited to the survey either directly, where they have previously consented to be contacted, or via their parent/guardian. Parents of youth aged between 8 and 13 will answer the survey on their child’s behalf.
