CLOSED: Victorian Employer Satisfaction Survey

Victorian Skills Authority

Wallis Social Research conducts the Employer Satisfaction Survey on behalf of the Victorian Skills Association (VSA).

The VSA are eager to hear about your experience of the vocational education and training your apprentice(s) and/or trainee(s) have received from their registered training organisations.

The information gathered from this research is used to improve how training is delivered in Victoria and ensure you have workers with the right knowledge and skills to support your business.

What is the survey about?

The Employer Satisfaction Survey is an annual survey that collects information from employers, like you, on the education and training experiences of their apprentices and trainees.

Your views on education and training quality and outcomes will help to evaluate, monitor and improve the Victorian Vocational Education and Training (VET) system.

Why have I been contacted?

The Victorian Government recognises that the VET system needs high quality information from employers to assess the performance of training providers.

To this end, the Victorian Skills Authority (VSA) wants to collect feedback on the performance of specific training providers with which you had a relationship in 2023. Wallis Social Research (Wallis) has been commissioned to conduct the survey.

Who is the VSA?

The Victorian Skills Authority (VSA) was established as an Administrative Office of the Department of Education and Training (DET) by the Victorian Government in July 2021. In early 2023, the VSA became part of the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions.

The VSA is a key link between Victorian employers, industries, training providers and communities. It aims to match Victoria’s employment demands with training and help Victorian employers and communities find workers with the skills they need, when and where they need them.

Why was I sent more than one letter or email?

If you had an apprentice(s)/trainee(s) who undertook education and training at more than one training provider in 2023, you may receive two survey invitations. If this is the case, it would be appreciated if you could fill out both surveys and reflect on your experiences with each training provider.

How did you get my contact details?

Your details have been sourced from the training contract that you signed with your apprentice(s)/trainee(s).

How will my privacy be protected?

Your data will be dealt with in accordance with the Public Records Act 1973 and the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic.).

You have the right to request access to your personal information from the VSA. The VSA will share summary results from the survey, but no identifying information will be disclosed as a result of this process.

Further information on the Victorian Information Privacy Principles is available here. The Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions privacy policy is available here.

Do I have to participate?

Participation in the survey is voluntary but is greatly encouraged.

Results from the survey will be used to improve the quality of VET to ensure Victorian employers have the right people with the right skills.

If you do not wish to participate, please contact Wallis by either telephone: 1800 113 444 (Free call) or email: employers@wallisgroup.com.au

If you would like to make a complaint about your training provider or make a comment about the vocational education and training system in general, please call the TAFE and Training Line on 131 823 or email: tafe.courseline@djsir.vic.gov.au for information and advice.

When is the survey being conducted?

The Victorian Employer Satisfaction Survey will be conducted between 18 March and 14 May 2024.

How long will the survey take?

The survey takes 5 to 8 minutes to complete.

How do I take part?

If you are an employer and eligible to participate in this survey, we will send you a letter in the mail or contact you via email and/or phone.

Who can I contact if I have questions?

If you have any questions regarding the survey you can call Wallis' general inquiries number on 1800 113 444 or email employers@wallis.social

If you have an ID number from a letter or email you have received regarding the survey, please share it in your communication.
