CLOSED: Mornington Peninsula Safe Speeds Trial

Regional Roads Victoria

As part of the large-scale safer speed trial undertaken by the Mornington Peninsula Shire, 33 council managed high-speed roads that were speed zoned at either 100km/h or 90km/h were changed to 80km/h in late 2019 for a 2-year trial period.

Wallis has in the past year conducted a large scale survey regarding how Mornington Peninsula Shire residents feel about these changes, which has provided an essential input to the evaluation of the trial.

In the second phase of this research, Wallis will be speaking with a number of these residents via in-depth interviews, in order to gain further insight into resident views on the speed trial and its potential outcomes.
