Thank you for your interest in the TAC Motorcycle Rider Survey. By taking part in this survey, you can assist the TAC in making Victorian roads safer for everyone.
You are most likely here because we, on behalf of the TAC, invited you to take part in a survey of Victorian motorcyclists. This important survey helps the TAC understand the experience and attitudes of all Victorian motorcyclists, even if they no longer ride. It assists with planning how best to improve road safety for everyone.

Who is eligible for the survey?
Any Victorians who have ever registered a motorcycle or held a motorcycle licence are eligible to take part (even if they no longer ride).
How long does it take?
It should take around 15 minutes to complete on average. The fastest way to complete it is online using the link in the letter we sent, or by clicking the “Start Survey” button.
How can I do the survey?
There are three ways to do the survey…
Online – you can click the orange “start survey” button below and enter the ID number that was included on your invitation letter. This is the same as the number in the link provided in your letter or SMS e.g. m123456 “wmsr.com.au/m123456”.
Hard copy – you can complete the paper questionnaire we sent with the invitation letter and mail it back to us using the reply paid envelope or to: Wallis Market and Social Research, 118 Balmain St, Cremorne, VIC 3121.
Telephone – Finally, you can simply wait for us to call. We have a phone number for most people, but not everyone. If you’d like to make an appointment for us to call at a particular time, please let us know by calling 1800 113 444 and quoting your ID number, or email us at roadsafetysurvey@wallisgroup.com.au
What is the prize?
One prize of $1000 will be randomly drawn from those who complete the survey and opt to enter the prize draw. The prize will be a $1000 eGiftCard, although we are happy to EFT the prize money to the winner if that is a preferred option. An additional prize of $500 will be drawn from those who complete the survey online by the cut-off date as noted on your letter and opt to enter the prize draw.
The winners will be notified firstly by telephone (if we have your number), and subsequently in writing. The prizes will be drawn on the date noted on your letter (people are invited at different times, which affects which prize draw you will be entered into, you can contact us if you would like to confirm the draw date).
How was I selected?
Victorians who hold, or have held, a motorcycle licence or learners’ permit or registered motorcycle are randomly selected from the VicRoads Registration and Licencing database to take part.
Is the survey confidential?
The survey is entirely confidential. Although the selection uses the VicRoads database, you personally identifiable details are only used to contact you, they are removed from the answers you give – even if you agree to take part in further research or enter the prize draw.
About the VicRoads Registration and Licencing Database
The TAC has access to the VicRoads database of all registered and licenced drivers and riders for the purposes of improving road safety in Victoria.
